Voice Chess

Voice Chess is a simple take on the classical game of chess, where you command the game with your voice. It supports solo play and hot-seat mode, offering an accessible platform to refine chess skills through voice-controlled gameplay, simplifying moves and strategies without the need for traditional controls - so you can play your favorite game even when cooking or doing laundry!

Voice Chess has many features and options, so anyone can find something for themselves!

Two modes of gameplay

The Voice Chess application allows for two different modes of gameplay:

• player vs engine
• palyer vs player

In the first (default) mode, the opposing sides pieces are controlled by chess engine running on your computer, whcih allows for interesting and challenging play. It is a good option if you want to learn and play against strong opponents or just don’t have anyone willing to play with you at your side at the moment.

The second mode gives you full control over the board! In this option both sides are controlled by the voice commands, which makes it ideal for playing with a party of two, in a larger settings, where who shouts first moves or even for some chill training and strategy learning.

Multiple languages available

The Voice Chess is not tied to any single language. Out of the box there are provided 2 languages: english and Polish. You can also with little to trouble bring any of the languages, that have a Vosk speech recognition model available. Compatible with most chess engines

Voice Chess provides an interface for playing chess games against chess engines. It is possible to use any UCI-compatible chess engine - like Stockfish!

By default application comes with a copy of Stockfish chess engine, which is used if no other option is specified. But it’s very simple to bring your own chess engine of choice! To learn more read user guide.

Instalation

To install Voice Chess application download latest version for your operating system and unpack the archive at the location of your choice. Once unpacked the appliaction is ready to go!
